School is cool (as possible)

Dear Parents and Carers,

Well done to students and staff for supporting one another this week in school. As you can see, we have been enjoying ourselves!

Although the temperature is set to significantly fall over the next week, the school recognises temperatures inside the school building are expected to be noticeably warmer than usual.

While we are taking steps to keep classrooms as comfortable as possible, going forward the school encourages students to:

  • Wear their PE kit or school skirt/shorts and short sleeve shirt (students should not wear jumpers or a blazer)
  • Apply sunscreen before coming to school
  • Bring a hat/cap to be worn to and from school and during social time
  • Bring a full water bottle to school

If students wish to bring a battery powered fan to school, they are permitted to do so during this weather, but they must turn it off/put it away if asked to so by a member of staff.

The school appreciates students are drinking more water than usual which has been beneficial but increased the need to use the toilet; children will be given the opportunity to use the toilet when they need to.

These adjustments will be in place until Friday 3rd July and the school will continue to monitor the building temperature and update parents and carers if there is any change.

Thank you for your continued support in keeping our school community safe and comfortable.
