Head’s Welcome

Dear Parents and Carers,

Welcome to our first newsletter of this academic year! We share this digital publication every week, bringing you the latest news from across Highbury Fields.

This week our community is very glad to welcome our new Year 7 and Year 12 students. We are looking forward to getting to know all of our new students and families very well over the coming weeks.

Over the summer holidays, we celebrated the wonderful achievements of our Year 11 and 13 students at GCSE and A Level results days. We are very proud of students’ hard work last year and hope to see the same effort and ambition this autumn term.

SIXTH FORM SUCCESS

A Level Results Day

Highbury Fields Sixth Form celebrated exceptional A-level and BTEC results, placing us in the top 10% of schools in the country. Nearly one-third of grades were A-A, 78% A-B, and 93% A*-C.

Several students earned A* and A grades across all their subjects, securing places at prestigious universities, including the University of Oxford. Over 50% of students gained places at Russell Group universities, compared to 25% nationally.

Our Year 13’s well-earned results marked a joyful day of celebration for teachers, students and families.

Other news from around the school

GCSE Results

Following the success of A-level results day, Highbury Fields celebrated outstanding GCSE results.

This year, 88% of students achieved grade 4 or above in English language and 82% did so in mathematics. These achievements are over 20% above the national average for girls and reflect the hard work of students and teachers alike.

Over a third of all grades were top marks (7–9), with 21 students earning all grade 7s or above. The school praised students’ hard work and has already welcomed many into the Sixth Form this week.

New Autumn term menu

This term, our caterers , Olive Dining, have created a bespoke menu packed with healthy dishes and tasty treats.

Every term, we also have special theme days to look forward to. In the autumn term, students can look forward to the following themes:

Trips and Enrichment Activities

Breakfast Club

Join us for a warm and welcoming start to the day at Breakfast Club!

Open from 8:10am, students can enjoy a free breakfast and a hot chocolate to fuel their mornings. It’s the perfect way to relax, chat with friends, and get ready for the day ahead. Breakfast Club finishes at 8:40am, to allow plenty of time for students to get to their form rooms.
